Louisiana So Far
So. We did it. We packed up a rented SUV with stuff, dog and cat and drove across the west to land in Louisiana so I can continue my film career and be near family at the same time. Of course, it is the drastic measure spurred by economic reality referred to in an earlier post. It’s early, but at this point the least I can say is that we “Walk the Walk.”
At the end of Week 1 of this journey in New Orleans, we unpacked, we’re adjusting to changes and while Mark’s work didn’t skip a beat, I’ve headed into uncharted territory with a renewed sense of purpose. There are only a few shows being made here as compared to Los Angeles, but the good side of that is that the hustle will be easier to manage. The other advantage is that there are so few stuntwomen in the state that I should be on the top of any stunt coordinator’s list to hire. Should … but, with Hollywood politics common in the stunt departments of the big budget shows that will shoot here, I’ll need to be extra vigilant. But, I know this. So, I’ll figure out ways to beat the system.
What excites me is that I’m invigorated by the change. I pray that my theories prove to be correct and that I’ll work more and progress faster and higher than my old hopes had come to accept.
